Speakers confirmed for Interpec 06

The organisers of the Interpec 06 engineering conference have confirmed the speakers for the event which takes place next week in Cardiff on the eve of Wales Rally GB the UK’s round of the FIA World Rally Championship.
Andrew Jenkins, head of marketing at BAE Systems Advanced Technology Centre will deliver a keynote speech which will discuss the company’s partnership with the McLaren-Mercedes Formula 1 Team and the transition of aerospace technology to automotive application.
Prodrives technical director David Lapworth will address 'the challenges using motorsport, particularly Formula One, to develop and promote new technologies within budget, while Prodrive chief Powertrain engineer David Hemming will present a technical paper on their innovative Variable Compression Ratio (VCR) engine, and reveal the Go-Engine's hardware in public for the first time.
BERU F1 Systems managing director John Bailey will talk on the subject of 'Racing line to production line' - from a quality wiring harness manufacturer to supplying the world's fastest road car, heavy duty trucks and aircraft and, how Wiring in Composite (WiC) is the firm's latest successful example of technology transfer to aerospace.
Alcon’s managing director Alistair Fergusson will explore the two-way benefits of collaboration between motorsport and other engineering sectors and the conditions required for success.
Shell Racing Solutions, global motorsport fuel technology manager Richard Karlstetter will address the conference on 'Advanced and future fuels technology in motorsport' and provide an insight into factors impacting on the future direction of fuel technology and why Shell wants to be an ongoing technology leader for racing and automotive fuels.
Dassault Systèmes, UK marketing David Treacher will explore 'The role of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) in automotive development' and otline PLM's use for the development of high performance vehicles and the benefits of applying this technology – such as reduced design cycle time, improved quality and reduced costs.
Ricardo senior business operations manager Dave Morrison will address 'Challenges and drivers for new technologies in the automotive industry' and objectively discuss feasible options and technical road maps. High Performance Engineering will be addressed with the recent success with the JCB Dieselmax land speed record car.
